This theme calls artists to imagine the city not only as a place we inhabit, but as an evolving canvas — shaped by memory, energy, resilience, and the creative force of its people. To deepen this exploration, each artist was paired with one of three guiding poems that anchor the festival’s narrative. These poems serve as conceptual touchstones, offering emotional and philosophical pathways into the artworks. They encourage artists to interpret Lagos through their own visual language while remaining connected to our shared curatorial vision.
